Need some info about an unidentified starfish

Hi Guys,
I have a certain starfish which I know absolutely nothing about it.
I can't find any picture / info over the web, so like many others... I came here, looking for answers from the experts :)

Can anybody lighten the issue for me?
The starfish came into my reef tank after living in another reef tank for some time.

Many thanks,

Oz

Hi Postal,
Thank you for your reply...
Have a look at the video I captured. Look at its center. It seems the 'Echinaster echinophorus' doesn't have it so I'm not sure it's the same one (correct me if I'm wrong).

I'm tempted to agree on Echinaster echinophorus but it does look a bit too spiney and is fatter.

Doesn't look reef safe to me but who knows!

That's what I was thinking too. But echinaster echinophorus has thinner, shorter arms with no black; only orange.

looks like a filter feeder starfish ? the thing at the middle looks like it would be catching planktons , and if so, it should not eat corals.

really cool and never seen it before ! send the image to ppl in the hobby and pls let us know when u find out what it is !
