i want to set up a mantis tank, not a peacok mantis but maybe a n. wenn, can i put him in a 2g glass tank? or do i need something bigger and acrylic?

Glass is no problem. The size is small, but if the animal is under two inches and the filtration is good, it can work.

can i use the filter and light that comes with a .75 gallon?

or i can get a 11$ filter that says its good up to 3gallons

will a N. ween eat my soft corals for example mushrooms, button polyps, kenya tree, or a maroon clown thats about 2.5-3" long?

I tried a 2.5 galon tank for mine and while it will work keeping the salinity and parameters constant with that small of a tank was a joke.....

For the same $10 you can get a 5.5 gallon and I'm sure glad I did..... The larger tank allows me to put lots of other critters in there and keeping the parameters constant is much easier...

Get a 5 gallon or larger.

I have a three gallon mantis reef at the office and it has been remarkably stable - the water parameters have always been excellent whenever tested, more stable than my larger reef. Just be sure to keep up with top offs. I have lots of live rock, corals, good water movement, and my mantis is the only inhabitant. The corals are even growing. This tank's been set up for nearly two years. My only regret: putting mushrooms in a tank this small - they're about to take over the world and you can't get rid of them!!
