Need some QT Recommendations

Hi, All.

So I'm going to be QTing a few fish at once to add to my main display tank. I know it's probably best to do each fish individually, but I'm going to be doing them as a group. I'm going to be using the TTM over the course of two weeks. Here's how I plant to do it but I do have some questions.

I have two 20 gallon breeders that I got from Petco on a one dollar per gallon sale. Both will be set up right next to each other with a powerhead in each, bag of carbon/gfo, some PFV places to hide and a good heater. The fish will be added on the first day to one of the two tanks.

To do TTM, after a certain number of days I have to move the fish only to the second tank, then, completely break down the first tank, boil and dry everything to be sure any parasites have been killed, and re-set that tank up. This process will be repeated for two weeks or longer. Here are my questions.

1: How many days do the fish spend in each tank? I remember reading something that's like 4 days first, then 3, then 4, then 3, then 3, but I'm not sure.

2: Would you medicate the tanks at all? If so with what?

3: How would you guys control ammonia. Obviously these tanks can't be cycled for weeks in advance that defeats the purpose of TTM. Would you just have prime handy and load up on carbon and GFO?

I look forward to all of your recommendations.

Thanks,
Joey

Also you really don't have to boil the equip. You can get a 5 gallon bucket and fill it about half full and pour some vinegar in it and let the equip soak for some hours. Then rinse the equip and let air dry until next use. Do not put the tanks side by side as you don't want no bubbles or drippings from the current tank going into the other tank.

You don't need gfo, carbon or ammonia badge for TTM... If you're concerned about ammonia, put in some prime on the 2nd day after each transfer.
