Hey everybody,

I'm new to the reefing world and I just got my tank all set up and parameters are all set finally. I need some suggestions on some great fish to add to my 55G tank. All I know that I really want so far are a pair of Snowflake Clownfish. Please suggest some of your favorite fish that will be reef friendly and work well in a 55G.

Also, I currently have 6 hermit crabs, 2 snails and 3 peppermint shrimp. Should I add anything else in terms of Inverts?

Thanks in advance!
Roger

Have you looked at all into fairy or flasher wrasses. Most are reef safe and I've never had issues with them being bully's. Plus they add a nice splash of color. And I would get more snails for your clean up crew (i.e. astreas, nasscarius, Ceriths)

Just got 2 more turbo snails and a conch snail to clean up my sand.

And my first fish... a purple firefish! Threw him in after drip acclimating for 1.5 hrs and he went straight to hiding in my caves. Threw in some Formula 1 flakes and he came out of the cave and stayed near the corner, but was eatting like a monster! Very excited, hope he stays healthy :)

Great looking fish :) just make sure you have a tight lid or a screen for the top. I had one in a previous tank and it jumped after almost a year of being in the tank found him when I got home from work dried on the floor.

Yeah I have glass canopies on the top. I can see how addicting this hobby can get, I'm already ready to go back to the LFS to find what I want next! haha :) Thanks for your help!

Great fish! But baby steps tennisstudrogie. Add tank inhabitants very, very slowly. Allow your systems a chance to catch up. Enjoy!!

+1

Do a fish every 2 weeks or so unless their a pair (i.e. clowns). Otherwise you could potentially crash the tank.

Love neon blue gobies. Tiny but great personalities.

Also dwarf angels, unfortunately they aren't all that reef safe :(
