Need suggestions for full compliment of fish for 20Long sps setup

Hello,

I have tried twice now to have a community that would work in my 20 Long (25 gallon system volume) but have failed miserably.

I started off with a six-line wrasse who decided to turn to the dark side and everything I put in there 2 kinds of damsels, cardinals, Clowns he just killed on site or tried to in the first day.

So I pulled it out and started over. This time I tried 3 very small green chromis who did fine for over a month, then one by one all died for some mysterious reason. (not properly acclimated when pulled up from the sea).

I then tried a lubbocks wrasse along with a royal gramma. Things were fine then I noticed the wrasse beginning to stay in one corner of the tank primarily. Next thing I knew the wrasse was dead apparantly the Gramma killed it. I then got a Flame Hawk and bi-color blenny (was not aware they nip sps). I must admit the blenny was sort of an impulse buy and really didnt do my research, because I really thought I could trust my lfs. Anyway it ended up nipping a frag, so had to move it out. The Flame Hawk decided to pick on the Gramma and chewed off some of its fins and nearly killed it.

Right now the tank is empty and I am very broken!

I just want a peacful community of nice fish, uncommon fish would be nice too.

Now I quarantine and dont have a ton of money so I usually can only afford a fish once a month or two months. I usually buy the fish and quarantine it for a full month.

Any suggestions for an uncommon collection of fish that will absolutely get along or should get along?

Thanks!

How much liverock do you have? What's the substrate? I really love goby/shrimp combos in small tanks. They make a fascinating pair that you'll really enjoy. In my 20g I have an orchid dottyback and black perc. Those have been the only fish in there for about 2.5 years, and they've done very well together. There are some other cool wrasses (possum wrasse comes to mind). A longnose hawkfish is another cool fish, but he may eat small shrimp. There are a good bit of options, just read up and find out two or three small fish that'll get along. HTH

Longnose Hawks semi agressive like the Flame?

Where can I read up about fish compatibility. I mean I have read things that say peaceful and the fish turned out to be a nightmare like the six-line wrasse.

Marie,

Thanks for the suggestion, but that sounds horrible. I mean somewhat aggressive has usually turned out to be aggressive in my situation. I just dont want to "try" any iffys any longer. I am only looking for peaceful fish. I guess like was mentioned my tank may be too small to have a community and I may have to go with a school or schoal of something. Any suggestions on that?
