Need suggestions for power back up for a 12 gallon nano reef tank

Hi,

I'm considering setting up a 12 gallon nano reef tank. My problem is we are experiencing frequent power cuts(one time I had the power out for about 7 hours but most of the time it's for 3 hours at a time). All the generators I see are big and powerful, do small versions of those exist? Any other option?

Thank you.

Get a Pen Plax B 11 airpump, it's battery powered and goes on when the power goes out. Then make an airlift to circulate the water, You'll be good for 24 hours of power outages without lifting a finger.

Honda EU1000i Worth it's weight in gold!

I have the same Honda.... they are amazing and quiet and cheap on gas. I bought mine for $700 and use it for all sorts of things.

Depends on your room temperature. If where you live is very hot or very cold, you'll need the generator. If not, you can get away with a cheap pump. They have battery operated pumps that plug in and turn on when a power outage occurs--$15. bucks at petsmart. One has been running in a new tank--so far 12 hours and counting. I'd just replace the batteries every 4-6 months or so for safety.
