Need to find some metal locally

Gang,

For the trim on new setup, and to tie into the deco theme of the remodel, I need to find some pieces of decorative brushed stainless steel tube.

These will not be in contact with water and are not structural. You will understand once I start building and post pictures.

Anyway, does anyone know of a local place to get .75" or 1" OD thin wall brushed stainless tubing?

I need about 20 feet or so total.

I tried ebay and the shipping is more than the tubing cost by a long shot.

Not what you specified but I got some nice Alum angle from Home Depot for my light box. If you wanted it brighter, you could polish with Mothers Polish.

speakeraddict --- try www.mcmaster.com . I checked, and they have 1" brushed stainless steel tubing. Their website wouldn't let me grab the link to post. Also, I think JMS metal in Decatur will sell to the general public with a minimum order. Their phone is 308-0580.

The price of stainless steel is in the stratosphere, especially 20 feet of it. You might like the price of 6061 aluminum better.

Yoda,

I beginning to realize that. :) Whew, I thought it wouldn't be too expensive. Looks like a rethink on the trim!

brushed aluminum looks decorative imo, and would be even more corrosion resistant than stainless.

ive bought 1 inch and 3/4 inch aluminum tubing from home depot before , when i was playing with rc planes and stuff
