Need to kill some GSP, Kalk questions.

GSP that's taking over. I was thinking kalk paste, but I don't have kalk, I have CaCl which I thought I might make paste out of, but it didn't work, I just got a really hot milk mixture.

So, what do I need, can you still buy pickling lime anywhere? And where? And what do I use to apply it? I have a turkey baster, but I didn't know if that would be too thick, I have syringes, but they're tiny for tiny aiptasia.

Can anyone help me out?
 
I'm assuming you mean green star polyps. I'd heard that Xenia takes over a tank, but I didn't know the green stars do also.

I do not have either in my tank, and I probably want to keep it that way. But, just in case they ever hitch a ride in - I do want to follow the thread so I know how to keep them under control.
 
Don't ever make the mistake of adding GSP unless it's truely isolated on a it's own rock island, I was getting impatient with other growth and knew GSP would cover a couple of rocks, but it's been a while and now I realize what a bad idea it was.
 
I make a kalk paste & cover everything I don't like. Usually it's pink cloves but I have a blue chalice that stings everything & can take over, that I've almost totally gotten rid of.
 
Most any LFS should carry it or you can find it online, for sure. Make a paste thin enough to squirt out of a large syringe (no needle) or a turkey baster.
 
use the applicator that comes with a joes juice. kalk past works just fine, i've been destroying mini cloves with it. just make sure you sypon out the left overs after your done, just in case.
also, if you can i'd just try and peel the gsp or remove the whole rock if possible.
i only grow gsp on my back wall and it's very easy to shave off and give away ;)

I did that before, but it's coming back although not as much as before. I'll try again though

First off you really need to work on your grammar and typing skills. Secondly please expound upon, using your vast knowledge, as to why exactly I shouldn't see this thread?

It's not my fault that you are a ******* and don't listen to people that give you sound advice. I don't bring your name up in threads, how about you not bring mine into any as well. I think your an idiot, you don't like me as a result of expressing my feelings towards you. Let's agree to disagree and just ignore each other.

As for the original poster listen to Puffer. Manually remove as much as you can and then spread some kalk, that should take care of it.

I know people were picking up Mrs. Wages from Walmart and some grocery stores I think had it as well. If you can't find it or don't want to go on a hunting mission I have about 22lbs on hand and can give you some if you want to pick it up.
 
Walmart has the pickling lime. It should be in the same section as the pots and pans or right next to it. You'll see it on the same shelves as the Ball jars. Just ask someone who owrks there where the Ball jars are located.
