Need to remove some anemones - mini bubbletips

I have 6-7 mini bubbletip anemones that I need to move / sell.

I had 1 nine months ago, and whoh it has multiplied!

Problem is, some of the clones are now sitting on the side of a clam, and another is now stinging a coral.


I have tried the ice on the foot - didn't appear to do anything besides make the nem mad. Do you have to keep doing it for a long time?

I also tried a powerhead, but this is in a nano so the current pointed at the nems was very strong and I did not want to do it for very long.

Is there any other way to get them to move? They need to go ASAP, my clam is not happy.

I have always used my fingernail to get them off!

You could try turning off all powerheads. Having no water movement might make them let go.

Are they bubble tips or mojano?

It does sound like what a pest anemone would do but jafoca said its bubble tip anemones. Could you give us a picture of these anemones jafoca?

I have tulip/mojanos that look like mini RBTA... they are the worst kind of pest ive encountered since starting this hobby

they are truely mini bubble tip anemones.

they look exactly like any bubble tip, but only get to a bit over golf ball size when fully grown. They do seem to reproduce quite fast at any rate.

Perhaps I will try the fingernail approach....

They are not. You will not be doing any favor to anybody who buys them from you.

BTAs normally do not split into "baby" size clones.

think - like a BTA only mini - yeah, you got the picture...

If u go to WWM
and look at the pest anemones, it does not look like aptasiia or tulip or majano...

I think I have the same as you. They get to about 4 inches and then split. A few times they went up to 5 inches. Mines don't seem to pack much of a sting, as there are hard and soft corals growing next to the btas.
