i need to seed my new sand bed What do i need to do? the tank has live rock in it but where do you get critters to help keep it clean? (worms stars etc.) or do i need this? can i just get some live sand? will it contain these?

You probably have little stars in the rock somewhere.

I would consider LR my choice to seed a tank.. You can always order specific stars, snails, hermits, etc from places like liveaquaria or LFS if there is something specific you are interested in later.

I agree with fishdoc... All you need is time and critters will move from your LR to your sandbed... That being said, I'm impatient... There's a fellow selling a Critter pack in the selling forum... I'm adding one to help boost my sandbed fauna in a new tank I'm setting up...

Or if you know someone with a decent sandbed, you can beg and squeel to trade a few pounds of new sand for a few lbs of seeded sand...

I really just want to make sure the sand gets turned over to remove waste and such any critters i really need to help do this?

Well, nasarius snails and others that burrow in the sand will help you turn your sand over... Bristle worms will do the same, though some people don't like the looks of them, especially when they get big... But bristles and spaghetti worms do wonders for detritus problems... Really depends on what you're wanting for the look of your tank... Oh those bumble bee snails are suposed to eat detritus too...

In my experience, bumble bee snails are worthless as far as turning over a sand bed... cool looking, but spend almost all of their time on the LR.
