Need to Sell

Due to personal reasons that I do not want to divulge at this time, my wife and I have decided to step away from this rewarding hobby for a bit with great reluctance. However, this is something that must be done at this time.

Up for sale is as follows:
120g AGA RR tank. Bought and put in use Feb. 06ââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢. The tank has been drilled in the back for an oceans motions 4 way with 2 extra drums running on a Reeflo dart pump. (6) 1ââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ output holes and (1) 2ââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ intake. All the plumbing was done with true union ball valves for easy removal. The tank has been going since Feb. 06. It sits on a custom stand made out of 2x4ââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s with a plywood base on the bottom and a plywood top where the tank would sit. Stand has been painted white with a latex paint. 2 coats. No center brace was installed for easy access under the stand. A custom made Oak shell slips on and off the front of the stand with 2 doors. There is a matching canopy as well. Canopy opens from the top or with the 2 doors on the front. These items were built for a 75g I had prior to the 120. I have the Oak to extend these pieces the 6ââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ needed to make the difference up between the 75 and 120g so you do not see the tank/2x4 framing. I used black pond foam on the back glass that is starting to become encrusted in coralline algae. Looks nice. Along with that is a 40g AGA sump. It is wide open with no baffles. In the sump is an ASM G3. I have the Sedra 5000 and a Sedra 9000 pump for the skimmer. I currently use the 9000 and it seems to do a better job than the 5000. I have a mag 9.5 for a return. Brand new 3 weeks of use on it. Most of the flow comes from the Oceans motions/Dart setup. The dart is rated at 3600gph. An EBO Jager 250w heater is also in the sump and maintains the temperature with no problems. All items listed above are brand new as of Feb. 06ââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ unless noted otherwise.

I have just purchased a Digital Aquatics Reef Keeper II controller. Works great and no issues. Was bought 3 weeks ago. I am running the newer style coralvue ballasts (6 months old) (250w) I have (2) 250w mogul 10k Reeflux bulbs. 4 months old and (2) Reef optix 3 pendants with Phoenix 14k 250w DE bulbs 1 month old. All cords have quick connect plugs for easy removal.

I also have a 65g Poly tank that is used for make up water. It is plumbed with a 6 month old mag 9.5 with a union for easy removal. This is plumbed to the tank to mix the water/salt and also go to the sump with a ball valve for water changes. Works nicely for water changes. No buckets or containers to lug around. I have a reef-filler tied into a 35g leg tank for my evaporation. The reef filler is good up to 7g a day. That is less than a year old. The leg tank is plumbed with a float valve and the RO/DI plumbed to that. This is fed to my sump. On the leg tank, I plumbed a Mag3 pump to circulate the water every day for 20 minutes. I use kalk in this container with no issues. I also have (1) 60g stock tank and (1) 50g stock tank and several Rubbermaid containers. I have 2 brand new Ebo Jager 250w heaters. Used 1 time to do the swap from the 75g to the 120g. I have (1) used but good condition seio 820 and 1100. I have brand new Salifert test kits used twice. My RO/DI unit is an Airwaterice unit. The typhoon 5 stage. I have had it for a year with no problems. I have 2 extra 75g membranes and several Misc filters including DI. All brand new of course. I have an inline TDS meter on this unit. Used for 6 months or so. I also use a handheld TDS to just keep things in check.

Livestock:

100+ lbs of figi and other types of live rock. 1 piece which is my center piece has a natural cave in it and is about 20lbs by itself. All rock is covered in coralline with nice dark and light purples and other colors. I will need to get a list together of all the corals, but will give a general idea here. SPS, LPS and soft corals. Zoanthids, leather, acros, milles, torch coral, rose anemone, frogspawn. May be others I missed, but will get a complete list later. The fish include, a Hippo tang, sailfin tang, both small to medium size, yellow face pygmy angel, pink spotted shrimp goby, mandarin dragonet, yellow head jawfish, six line wrasse and (2) Onyx Clowns that have paired up. Momma has laid eggs once that I have seen, but Papa is still too young to do anything with them. All fish are healthy and eat well. I feed Rodââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s food only and they each eat it.

I had an issue with the acro eating flatworms on a few pieces of acro, Those pieces were removed from the tank and a treatment done. Worms gone. All other SPS were inspected and have no signs of them and never did. The pieces that had them came from a neglected tank that I was doing a favor for my old man. I am very anal with my tank and do everything possible to keep my livestock happy and healthy. Anyone that has seen it can attest. No expense was spared when it came to livestock or parts needed to keep the tank going 100%

I would like to sell as a whole to avoid issues of regret and my livestock suffering from partial teardowns of equipment. I have over 3K invested in this without the livestock. Will do a package deal for everything including livestock for $2,500. Will help deliver within reason if needed. Everything is pretty much plug and play for you to setup. I will include any Misc parts I have laying around also. Plumbing, bulk heads, other tanks etc.

Feel free to email or call me to come by and take a look.

Thank you for your interest.

Todd

Todd, this is really sad. Is reconsidering an option? Anything I or we can do to make that possible? You have worked so hard, and it seems both you and your wife were into the hobby.

It does not sound like this is like my situation of being frustrated with the hobby, but if there is anything that can be done let me know.

I hope if it comes to it, that you are able to sell the setup complete to avoid the parting out hassles. I have no ability to take on another tank setup and will respect your wishes to not part out so won't ask or do a "dibs."

Joel

Thanks Joel. We will see what happens. Thank you very much for the offer to help. It's best to step away at this point and take care fo some things that need attention. My tank will suffer if I keep it and I do not want to do that.

Todd

Todd,

Sorry to hear and if there is something I can do to help the situation please let me know. If things do not work out I would be interested in the poly tank I passed up for ya :) as well as the clowns. Let me know.

Jim

You can come get the poly tank if you want. I will do one more big water change and it will be empty. Let me know. I have a funeral to go to this weekend so time may be limited

Todd sorry to hear your getting out :(
Someone will get an Great deal on this beautiful and practically new setup
jump on quick as it should not last

Same as Joel, if I can help you change your mind please feel free to give me a call

Thanks Joe. It's not a financial situation or anything. Just personal things that will take up too much of my time and the tank would end up suffering. I would hate to see that. I have invested a lot of me into this and would hate to see it fall apart from no attention. better to step away now and let someone else take care of it since I will not be able too.

Todd,

Reefers who live very close to me has either moved out or getting out of the hobby? What's going on? :(

Sorry to hear that you are getting out. But I'm sure you are making the right decision.

I don't have the $$$ to buy your whole set up. But I might be interested in some items if you decide to part it out. If Jim doesn't want the poly tank, I'm interested. I'm interested in your stock tanks too.

I am sorry to hear of anyone with any issues that cause them to have to back away from the hobbies or activities they enjoy.

I took a break from this hobby (and many other things) a few years ago for family medical issues and it has been very good to be getting back to a state where I can spend time on things I enjoy and help pass the time again.

To that end I am setting up a new tank system (sadly the display tanks and sump are already ordered and in house or I would be very interested in this setup). However, if some of the miscellaneous items go piecemeal I would be interested in some of the stock tanks and/or 'other tanks' you mentioned as I am just setting up the plumbing, the water change, and the rock 'curing' setups now.

You can come by and get the stock tanks when you want. They are not tied into the system. $40 ea. or $70 for both.

Thanks,
Todd

Stock tanks are available...I should have mentioned that earlier. Sorry. I have a 20g tall available also that is ready now. I will need to see if the other tanks I have are suitable to sell or not. I don't want to seel something that is not worthy.

Todd

Todd,

I will take the poly tank. This is the one from Minosa ?? :) right. Also I want the clowns as well if you are parting them.

I will PM you next week to setup a date and time. Again....I am sorry to hear your getting out. When you do start back up you are more than welcome to some free frags and such when your ready.

Jim

A quick rundown for those asking through PM....

Hippo Tang-small to med size-$45
Sailfin Tang-small to medium size-$40
Six Line Wrasse-$20
Yellow Head Jawfish-$20
Pink Spooted Shrimp Goby-$30
Mandarin Dragonet-$20
Onyx and rose anemone are spoken for it appears.

The SPS and other corals have no set price. better to come and see them and we can discuss at that time. I will try and post pictures tonight if I can. With my schedule as of late, it may be dificult. As i said, your best bet is to stop by and see these for yourself.

Thanks,

Todd

Todd,

I will likely keep the tank in tact at you have it with the pump. I am also interested in the reef filler. Not sure how it works but I am interested in seeing it.

Yes Jim, same tank from Mimosa. It's yours. The clowns appear to be sold along with the rose. it was a package deal. They have been together since I put the fish in the tank. If something changes I will let you know. Thank you.

Todd,

Cool. I should have clarified that I wanted both as well as the rose. Oh well.... If things change let me know.

Jim

Works for me on the poly tank and pump. the reef filler basically sits on a shelf above the leg tank. A hose with a diaphragm at the end is submerged in the tank and draws water out and into the sump. You are more than welcome to see it when you come over. It has kept my tank within 1/8" of water level once it was dialed in.
