I want to get confirmation on something, I had a ich outbreak a while back and 5 months or so I have not seen anything, I am moving to a 180 FOWLR from a 125 and want to use my sand and rock I have now. I want to be as close as ZERO % as possible to NOT having it again. I will run the fish I currently have through a TTM while the tank is setting up.

I have heard running the rock through fresh water for about a minute submerging it would kill any ich in 30 seconds.

I will also rinse the sand with fresh water to clean it and for possible ich. I will be rinsing all equipment in fresh water as well and letting air dry..

I will be transferring soon so I really could use your advice on this...
Thanks in advance.......

If you will be performing the tank transfer method, then you need to go all the way and not take any shortcuts. Make one of the tanks a permanent QT. Set your 180 up just like normal, using your rock and sand. Then let the tank go empty(without fish for 72 days). After performing the Tank Transfer Method, IMO you might as well put them through some rounds of Prazi Pro in the permanent QT. This will eliminate any chance of flukes as well. That is just my opinion.
