Ok so I'm in process of building a 27g cube. 18x20x18 high. Everytime I think I know how I want to light it I read something that steers me in a diff direction. I definitely want LEDs. My choices were 2 kessil a150s. One kessil a350 or wait for the wide 350. Ai sol blue. Or if I can scrape the $ a radion.
My plans are mixed reef. Lps zooas shrooms. Maybe some sps and a clam.

My biggest concern is goin overkill and bleaching anything I add or having light spilling all over the room. It's between 2 couches so that would be annoying.
The kessils have a amazing look. The ai and radion I like the control ability of. Or I have mixed feelings on a DIY fixture.

I'm all ears on opinions and want to get the ball rolling since this weekend I'll be drilling and plumbing
Thanks In advance.
If anyone has a recommendation on a fixture I left out let me know

i have an AI sol blue (2 weeks new) on my 30x15x20 w/ softies and LPS and am very happy with it so far. i also have the controller so dimming the lights is no problem. i acclimated the corals to the light very slowly (coming from t5s) to avoid bleaching and still only have the power at about 60% for the time being.

on a tank that size you could get away with an ai sol nano and save yourself $100

i see the benefit of the LEDs as i used to change 4 bulbs twice a year which costs $100 every time, so in 1 year my LEDs will of paid for themselves.. however, there are many conflicting views on LED vs everyother light source. this is just my opinion on them thus far.

lol nah theirs a bunch of us, just not real any real reef stores, kingdom has, but usually same stuff smile stuff u got pics of the set up with the ai?

Really? Man I'm so out of the loop. I hate all the LFS stores around here, never seen any good livestock and their lack of knowledge is shocking, although the one store I've never been in is kingdom (the one richmond) I usually buy online or make the trip out to ocean nj to tropiquarium which is def worth the drive, great livestock.

No pics, my iPhone cam just can't handle the color temps.

yea kingdom always had, i been outta this for about 2-3 years but i use to goto a distributor in nj n cherry pick wholesale =. boy i hope he's still in business lol

Lol. Well good luck with the weekend plans, I'm around the corner if you ever need a hand (forreal) or if you wanna see the AI's stop by. -Eric
