My wife wants a new DSLR for xmas and its been a while since I have looked at them. Can you suggest a good camera that is easy to navigate thru the different settings and takes amazing pictures?

The menus and controls are different for each brand. Since any DSLR will take "amazing" pics, she needs to hold the bodies in her hands and see what's better for her.

It's more the glass and the grey matter behind the camera that makes pics amazing.

A budget(or price range) and what kind of pictures she would be taking?

What is her current camera? does she want it to shoot video as well?

Man, my DSLR hasn't taken a picture by itself yet, much less an amazing one. Guess I need to get one of these newer, fully automated models.

Current camera is a 9 yr old eos rebel. She loves taken pictures of anything outdoors both moving and still as well as our kids. Video is not that important to her. As far as budget goes....I'd like to get her a compete setup for under 2k.

P.S. It should also take nice fish tank pictures too :)
