I need to treat my fish for an Ich outbreak and my 10 gallon quarantine tank is too small. I'd like to buy (or borrow...:o) a 20 gallon or larger (up to 55 gallon) tank with hood.

Also, is there a local place to purchase Crypto Pro or chloroquine phosphate?

Thanks!

I have a 55 with a stand and PC light you can borrow. Tank just needs cleaned a little : p. Located near New Stanton.

Also I have a 29 with stand, glass lid and T5 light not in use.

Setting up a quarantine tank and immediately dumping the fish in there is likely to stress them out even more. A healthy fish that is eating should be able to get rid of ick itself. The only time I have lost fish to ick is when I pulled them out of the tank to treat them....

If you are using a quarantine tank it should be setup and functioning well before you put fish in there.

Exactly, I was going to state this but this is such a touchy subject I didn't want to get too much into detail

Thanks for the input! A common theme is that reacting too quickly (overreacting) will often cause more harm than good. Putting a fish into an un-cycled treatment tank would be almost a last resort, IMO.

My gut reaction was to get my fish out of the DT and treat them immediately! However, the reality is that the fish are still eating well and are active and otherwise healthy (aside from some rubbing up against the rocks).

At this point I will get a larger QT set up and cycled in case the fish take a turn for the worse...otherwise I'll stay the course with increased water changes and solid diet.
