Needle wheel question

I am building a new skimmer which will be using a Reef flo dart pump, that has been converted into a needle wheel type.

with the kit I was able to purchase an intake valve from MRC, I understand that it is fitted on the suction side, but which way is the air intake in relation to the flow.

the valve doesn't have an arrow which chows which way the flow is to go.

You are talking about a venturi tube right? got a picture?

My Orca 250 has the hole closest to the pump. That's a metric sized piece but with some careful sanding of 1.5" fittings you can make them fit like a glove!
