Nem or coral?

Hmmm either a rock flower or pacific flower hmmm but I never seen a shroom like that so I guess anemone?
Cheers,
I'm not sure it's either of those but like you say it doesn't look like any coral I'm familiar with. No amount of googling seems to be helping either.....

The tentacles are showing some good extension with some as long as the diameter of the disc. It also has a smaller one next to it.

Okay, given it a prod and I can't lift the disk and it doesn't retract like a paly or curl like a shroom. Maybe some kind of lps?

I've seen many Duncan heads that small, they are small when they are newly formed. I've currently got a green Duncan with heads not much bigger than that, my purple Duncan has much larger heads. I've owned many Duncans over the years, and to me your picture most resembles a Duncan head than any anemone I've ever seen.

Maybe it is, or maybe it isn't, it was just a thought and my thought on the subject.

I appreciate your input, thank you for sharing. I tried lifting the edge of the disk with the point of a blade and rather than the edge lifting the fleah receded towards the center. It left behind a solid base with what felt like ridges running from the edge to the center like you see on a torch and some other lps when they retract. Which is why I suspect it's an lps of some description. It's the shape of the tentacles themselves that don't quite match what I've seen on a Duncan but like I said I've never seen one that small so I don't know if they change as it grows.

I think I'll remove it from the frag to see what it does with some space.

I agree with you on the tentacles, they remind me of what happened to one of my anemones when I had too bright of lighting in my tank. I actually fried most of my corals too. I think once the tentacles grow out you'll have a better idea of what it actually is.

I'm going to keep my choice of Duncan for now :D Good luck with it and please by all means update this thread as it grows out.
