Nems mouth open after a week

Hi all,

I posted this nem up about a week ago and he seems to be doing well. Remains puffed up and large. I have not tried to feed him, and have not touched him, but it seems as if his mouth sits open for a while during the day. Not really gaping and turning inside out but more open. I read online that the mouths will go oval when they are hungry or trying to feed. Just wondering if this is an issue or if I'm just worried about nothing. Any help would be awesome. He is under 6 bulb T5s and I have a vortech running at 30% and two K4s above him running on a wave maker. I did a small 5 gallon water change about 2 days ago after he was in for 4. All paramaeters are spot on.

His foot seems down and he has not moved since I put him in. Not fishing for complements on it. Jut want to make sure everything is ok or if there is anything I should do.

Make sure to keep an eye on those asternia stars. I started with about 5 , now I have thousand that demolished my zoo population which they love to eat

I have to have thousands in there and my zoas have been vanishing for no reason. that must be the cause. Nice find. Howd you get rid of them?

Does he deflate at night? The mouth is open a little too much but he's probably adjusting still.

He deflated last night. But other nights he is stretched out and in that vase shape. I have not been home today to check on him yet. Ive heard that sometimes the rocks can be an issue. ARe they too close or would he move if there was a problem?

They like to attach themselves in the sand on a rock or near a rock.. Thats fine, not an issue.

It is in a 90 gallon tank. And I watched its foot plant before I covered the base in sand. Its secured and in pretty good. The part of the nem that is used to attach to the glass is the foot.

They will eat all of your coraline as well. Manually remov as many as you can and get a pair a harlequin shrimp or you'll have zero zoos in no time. They are the worst!! Nice nem btw

Thanks. I just tried to feed it but it had very slow reaction to anything that touched its tenticles. It did eat the squid I shot in its mouth. Or whatever it could before the rest of the fish got to them. Do nems need to be trained to frozen? I'l try to feed it again early next week or this weekend.

I'd love a pair of harlequins, but so would my hog fish.

That nem would pick them of to.

Expensive snack.

I noticed that one of my hammers was stretching close to the nem and the end of the nem that was near the hammer was looking withdrawn and was not extending. I moved the hammer because maybe that was stressing the nem.
