Hello, a co-worker of mine spotted a neon blue colored mantis this morning at one of our wholesalers, Im wondering if anyone has any idea what species it could be. I know this is vague especially since I did not se it myself but Im wondering if anyone has seen a blue mantis, it is most definetely a smasher as Ive instructed him on how to identify them, so possibly a n.wennerae who molted after living under "different" lighting conditions? Any imput greatly appreciated as I might snag this guy.
Thanks in advance guys and gals

I know of no species that is neon blue on the body, but several have bright blue dactyls, antennal scales or uropods. The most dramatic is probably G. ternatensis that has blue antennal scales and uropods (male). The body is usually dark green with red intersegmental stripes.

Thanks for the imput Dr. Roy I feel pretty confident in my fellow employee but I know you are the expert in this area so Im going to go check it out myself early this next week and most likely snag it.
Ken he said it was around 2.5 inches, and where it was from he didnt ask since it is one of our wholesalers it could have been imported on some rock, or maybe even collected specifically for a customer who fell through. Whatever the case (and true color) I will let you guys know next week definetely, and post a pic if Dr. Roy would be good enough to help me with an id.
Cheers,
Brian
