or Chili coral!

So a cpl years ago I was given a "rescue" frag of this. After a month or so in one of our DT's I noticed it wasn't improving and actually looked like it was on its way out. I tossed it in my sump and for a LONG time it was under the crashing flow of the DT drain.

When I setup the 4.4g temperate tank several weeks ago I was picking through some of the lr in the sump to use for an aquascape. I found the chili coral all puffed up but with no polyp extension but markedly improved in health!

The Korallia nano offers almost too much flow in the 4.4 but I figured I'd try the chili in there b/c of the pounding flow it rec'vd in the sump.

Here it is after the lights came on this morning!

I feed the system daily with a small amount of Cyclopeeze as well as Spectrum Pellets.

My chili corals do best with moderate indirect flow. I try and put em where heavy flow is redirected by glass or LR. Good luck and great coral :)

It's really amazing when a forgotten coral pops up again only to find it in better condition than when you lost it. I had a blasto topple over the back of my rocks a good 5 years ago in my 30g. When I took down the 30g to begin my 180, there she was... and almost twice as big! I'm excited to say that I am going to pick her up from a friends house tonight (the person who has been babysitting a lot of my stuff). If your Chili coral ever takes off, keep me in mind... I think they're georgeous! "A beaut, Clark!"

They don't exactly love light either do they? I seem to recall reading that somewhere. Either way, if if starts to shrivel, throw it back in the sump where it was happy. Peek at it on occasion for your own enjoyment. Just like you do with your old Playboys!

Theyre YOUR old Playboys Mark and SHHHHHHHH!

Yea theyre completely NPS...i think I'll try to get it in the shade some more so we can admire the PE while the lights are on...try to train it some.

Jesse how long have you had yours? Any pics?

I had one for 3 years that went south in a move, or so I thought...
Just found a small piece of it that I am trying to rehab.

Few months ago I came across these and picked em up.

Sorry about the pics, only have my camera phone, but you get the idea

I misspoke in my question. I forgot to say "direct" feeding. Like with a turkey baster.

Do you shoot food directly at it, or do you just let it catch stuff that floats around the tank?
