Here's our list of speakers for NERAC this year--
Dr. Sanjay Joshi
Dr. Sanjay Joshi in real life is a professor of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Penn State University. He has been a reef addict since 1992, and currently keeps 3 reefs at home 55G, 60G and a 180G SPS dominated reef. He also co-manages the 500G aquarium at Penn State. He has published several articles in magazines such as Marine Fish and Reef Annual, Aquarium Frontiers, Aquarium Fish, and Advanced Aquarist. In addition he has been an invited speaker at several marine aquarium society meetings.
David Saxby
David Saxby is known throughout the world as being at the forefront of modern reef keeping and his 3,700 gallon aquarium system has appeared on television and in many books. David describes himself as a 'reef gardener' rather than a biologist and has learned the hard way over many years what works and what doesn't whilst pushing forward the boundaries of the hobby through his worldwide connections.
Michael Paletta
Michael Paletta has been keeping marine tanks since 1980 and reef tanks since 1985. During the past 20 years he has written over 160 articles on marine fish and invertebrates in both the US and Europe. His first book “The Modern Marine Aquarium†is an attempt to simplify marine fish keeping for the beginning hobbyist while at the same time incorporating advances that have been made due to reef keeping. This book has sold over 110,000 copies. His second book “Ultimate Marine Aquariums†illustrates how far the hobby has come in the past 15 years. In this book are examples of just about every type of reef tank using different methodologies and technology.Currently Michael has 1,200 and 40- gallon reef tanks set up in his home. He has helped in the set up of over 140 tanks throughout the U.S, including several tanks over 4,000 gallons in capacity. Michael also acted as a consultant with the National Aquarium in Baltimore and the Pittsburgh Zoo Aquarium.
Dustin Dornton
Dustin hails from California where he was employed in the marine aquarium industry. He is our resident expert in coral and coral culture. Dustin is well versed in system design and construction, and will be overseeing the building of our new coral hatcheries.

Coral Fragmentation: Justin Credabel
Justin has long been a fan of nature. Organic gardening before he could speak, breeding guppies as a child in his basement laboratory, and over the past 6 years, propagating coral. Justin has worked hard to increase the expanding body of knowledge on the husbandry of the genus Goniopora. Justin is president of the non-profit corporation Applied Sustainable Aquaculture, the focus of which is to develop and enhance new coral propagation techniques and develop ways to improve efficiency and economic solvency in aquaculture while at the same time reducing negative environmental impacts due to current practices.

Anthony Calfo is an author of several books, reef poster series’, and dozens of articles on the aquarium hobby, science and industry. He actively mentors on several leading message boards and travels monthly to consult or give presentations to facilities and aquarium clubs around the world. His experience and special interests include commercial Discusfish aquaculture, wholesale coral farming, and business development.
