net for rotifers?

what do you guys use to harvest the rotifers to feed the babies?

I've got 10,25,53 micron sieves for the different strains (thanks mwp) Works great!

50-55um plankton collector for L-strain rotifers. You can get it from Florida Aqua Farms or any other aquaculture supply place. You can make one yourself but if you just need one it's probably cheaper/ easier to just buy it.

BTW where are you located? Maybe someone is close by and give you some mesh.

anyone ever try, rotifer fest by reed mariculture? it has a shelflife of about 2-3 months.

Yep, I have tried Roti-feast and Phyto-feast. They last quite a while and I feed it to my reef.
I haven't used it for seahorses, only live for them so far...

Embryo- if you want a fighting chance at raising some clownfish you will HAVE to culture rotifers, there's just no way around it. Many have tried artificial diets, always with poor results. Not imposible but the yield is typically so low it hardly seems worth the effort. I have used frozen rotifers to supplement live when my cultures were down and that worked pretty well, but I never tried frozen exclusively.

BTW baby clowns don't eat phytoplankton, they eat zooplankton.

Oh, and they aren't "baby clowns", they are larvae

That's the same thing I've heard as well, for clowns that is. I've heard of some mixing live w/ Roti-Feast with minor success, but not enough to warrant doing it again. Other fish I've actually heard some very good reports back, but not MO fish, food fish

i know larvae, but "Baby" clowns sounds better
