Ok well I am new to this forum so I may be posting in the wrong spot. I am a member of two local forums and wanted to join a national forum. I am in the process of building a 120 4x2x2 reef tank. I have a preliminary equipment list and already have a few of the items. I will post pics a little later but for now here is the equipment.

Reef ready stand - just got and refinished
canopy
all glass 120 gallon wide aquarium
Trigger systems ruby elite series 36E sump - Just got
Reef octopus 150 recirculating needle wheel skimmer
eheim 1262 return pump - just got
4ft Aqua illumination leds
2 ecotech marine mp40s
Bio pellet reactor
115 lbs of sand
100 lbs of rock

ordering an item a week so far. when I get to the lights that will probably be one every two weeks. So this will take a while but hey Ive got my 70 gallon to be happy with till its done.

[welcome]

You will be very happy with your skimmer. I love mine.
115 lbs of sand is a lot. How deep will your sand bed be?

Yes I beleive 100 lbs of rock will be enough. I intend on scaping in two seperate structures. I like to use a little less rock and leave a nice big sand bed. With the 4' foot print 100 will be fine. The reason for the 115 lbs of sand is that in a 4ft by 2ft floor plan that will give me a 2 in sand bed. I am relly kindof torn between the reef octo and the trigger systems bursa. only because the bursa would match the sump lol I know ridiculos but I did spend all that extra money for the ruby elite sump. I have a reef octo 110 on my 70 gallon and love it.

It seems I keep adding money to this build but oh well if your going to do it do it right the first time. Now considering a calc reactor. I still have yet to figure out what kind of setup it will be. I mean comunity reef, predator reef, or sps with non reef safe fish such as angels

I dont know I still have awhile to figure that out.lol

The tank build seems to change every day. I have decided to add a few things and I am sure more will come. I was going to start plumming this week but I may wait till i get the skimmer and all the reactors. I am going to get a geo 612 calc reactor, a next reef bio pellet reactor, octopus nw rec 150 with self cleaning head. That should take awhile also going to be getting my AI lights and Mps. So this build may take awhile.

I do like the size of the tank and am so ready to get it up and going. going to try and take my time with this one. The last tank was set up in three days and all though its doing great there are things I wish id have done differently.
