New 150 Rr

Well, I picked up the 150 RR I bought online with stand, sump, etc on EBay last weekend. Of course on the way in, we cracked the tank(it was about 8 years old). Oh well, darn thing was a Oceanic that must have weighed 300 lbs. It was my fault it cracked, not my helpers, so that was good. Well, today, my new 150RR tank was delivered to replace it... bought an all glass - a little lighter weight. It is in place and all plumbed up.... I will get pics up as soon as I can...

A new tank is always exciting.......

Way to go Ed!
That has to be one of the fastest setups.
What are you using for a sump?

I am using the sump I had on my old 65 gallon (about 20 gallon sump), I am using the sump that I got with the setup, which was one of those bioball things as a refugium - about 25 gallons I would guess - deep sand bed and Cheato...

When I set up tank, it is fast. I am very impatient. I tell you what though, I had been collecting live rock here and there and keeping it in 5 gallon buckets. I had 3 buckets plus a few pieces and all the rock from the 65. The darn 150 looks empty even with all that in there...... what a difference.

First I have to figure out how the heck to upload pics here, can someone tell me? I have the tank up and running, and NO LEAKS on the first try. I took my time and did it right. I find I get more patient as I get older. Everything is in and looks good.

As far as the cracked 150 - bring a few guys and you can have it. The deal is - you want it, you move it. It is next to my front door- 20 feet from the driveway. I am too darn old to be lifting the thing, so bring a few friends. I don't know what you would use it for, but that is up to you.

I want to let the tank cycle and settle down a bit before I put in the big tangs I want. It is always a good idea to be patient in this hobby. VERY PATIENT. You lose less fish that way.
