Agreed with last 2 posts. 1500 is out of this world.

I paid 250 shipped for mine from filter guys. 5 stage 75gpd with dual tds meter and 2 psi gauges.

Like last poster said bulk reef supply has similar units for under 200$

Pretty much what I bought first except I bought dual set up, seriously consider the dual home and reef if it can work for you. Mine is plumbed to my kitchen sink and ice maker, I'd have it if I did not have a tank.

Update. Tank is doing great. I think it is almost done cycling.

au contraire.. I believe the cycle is just getting started. Once your tank stops looking like this, then you're done. This was at about the 2-3 month mark.

Yes on all the above,

get rid of the tap water
Get the R/O unit
No to the shark
Scrap the bacto-in-a-bottle
buy as much rock as you can
..and did I read that right? a 30 gallon sump?

What are we skimming this with?

IMO , get at least a 75 gal sump for the overflow and a large Skimmer. That is a BIG tank

Culligan water came to the house and installed one. Now I just need to bypass there small tank and run it to a 55 gallon drum in my garage
