I moved some of my acans onto a rock, glued them down so they are out of the sandbed. Plan on doing it with the rest

The red one is from Salt Water Paradise, the others from Reef Creation. These all sit on one rock and were lit by a 400w 12k reflux when the photo was taken, they normally are not in this much light and may need to be moved soon but giving it a try. The other acans are going to get attached to rocks this weekend, tired of them getting buried in sand.

I have frags of the pink one, can frag a green/purple one...that is it right now.

This one is probably supposed to be a "Sunset" montipora. The base should be much more orange. The one from Steve Tyree is very orange, with the polyps very green. The more pale version supposedly comes from ORA. I have both in my tank.

Montipora love magnesium, so if you want them to be more colorful, you may need to bump it up some. This particular one seems to do well away from the lights, rather than higher PAR.

I guess I have both as well then Marc...thanks for the ID.

Both of them are pretty high up under the 250w, will move this one down the other 'tyree' I guess seems to be doing fine.

I've got the same frag of what supposed to be sunset monti. I believe we got them at the same time. Mine looks about the same as yours.

The other one that I have which some claim isn't the real thing looks ten times better than that one IMO. In both your tank and mine.

Scott, the one I got from you has continued to grow quite well. You can see it in this picture. (Sorry, I don't recall if I posted it in this thread already):

The Tyree version is in the bottom right corner. The one from Scott is just beneath the pink Birdsnest, above the Tyree.

Mine is brighter than that in my tank. The "True Tyree" that I have has brighter polyps but the body is brown.

Marc, look at the pic of the sunset that Kurt posted earlier in the thread. Its the same one that you have. Its pretty bright. I'm not saying the strain I got is better than the Tyree. I'm just saying that in my tank its much brighter and nicer looking. Not to mention it grows like a weed.

But in your tank their is no comparison. The Tyree version is much brighter....Maybe i got ripped off on what I was sold as the "tyree" version.

Heres a pic of a frag that I had http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d82/bosborn1/IMG_7159.jpg

I have no idea. Yours has some very pretty tissue. Maybe I should poke mine with a stick and see what it looks like under all those polyps.

Kurt,
Did you get this coral from me about a year ago? It looks like my Astreopora.

Mark(Melev)
I think I sold you a frag of this exact coral at the Swap you spoke at in Batavia, NY.

Hi Randy. I don't recall if I got it from you or Scott, but it was that same trip.

I absolutely LOVE the fish you have... some of my favorites! I gotta make it out to your place one of these days!

Randy, the one I bought from you is solid green and on the other side of the tank. Green "Bed" and green polyps.

Scott, I thought this was the one I got from you

Thanks Jon

Someone PM'd me and said "While the shots are pretty, would like to see more depth of field...more things sharper"

So I pulled out a tripod

Purple Acropora

Different Acro, that seems to be turning purplish. This is the current home to the yellow clown gobies, they have laid eggs in the same spot on this coral 3x now.

The lighting on this one is not good, and it may be the lost "Superman" monti I had traded for.
