New 220 gallon build

This is a "Vortex 600" I think was the name, it was $219 at harvest moon. Not a small fan by any stretch. They had smaller fans, this one is meant for a 6" dryer duct...they had them for 5" and 4" also with lower pricing. The cellar was beginning to "smell like the ocean" to quote my wife and not in a good way, the smell was gone after running it for the 30 minutes as well as the room being cooler and noticeably less humid. Installation took 15 minutes.
I do think the price was $250 but the guy said he would sell it to me for $219 since I was also buying a 40lb CO2 tank that I will be refilling there.
Its a really neat store, I was in a hurry but it appeared they had many things that could be useful. There were also controls for fans that would have them go on and off at certain humidities...I am just going to have it go on for an hour or so per day.

The fan works outstanding. The humidity in the basement is completely gone running the fan for about 1/2 hour per day.
I forgot to turn off my RO/DI maker the night before last and ended up with a lot of water on the floor. Pre-fan I would have needed to clean it up with towels and there still would have been wetness for a day or two, I did nothing but turn the fan on to check the effectiveness and two hours later there was no evidence of my error. There is also not water accumulating on every surface in the cellar as there has been.
Very happy with that purchase.

I had a pair of Gold Stripped Maroon clowns that lived in a brown bubble tip anemone, the male died and the female became mean and disruptive to the tank.
Decided to switch to a 'nicer' species of clown and picked up a pair of Ocelaris that were captive breed and after at least 5 or 6 weeks had not began hosting in the anemone (Which under my new MH lights was changing from brown to a bright green color
) or a RBTA I picked up a week or so after the clowns.
Decided to get them a teacher...tudors
I have two anemones, one RBTA and one GBTA. The new Percula's housed immediately in the larger green, the female occelaris was immediately interested in what they were doing.
Shhhh, just be quiet and she will go away.
Now the female and male are watching.
Hopefully they (The Oc's) will find the RBTA that is on the other side of the 220 now that they seem interested in hosting.

Kurt, hows the aggression between the two sets? I've got a single after it's friend carpet surfed about 4 years ago, I just never repaired it up. I've got a large tank so I would like to get 2 or 3 pairs in the tank, just worried about aggression from the elder perc. in the tank.

Its very early in the relationship...but
After about 15 minutes of watching the Percs host in the anemone the female Oc poked her head in at one of them twice in what may have been an attempt to show some dominance. The lights were on last night for about 2 hours longer and there was no other incident.
The Oc's slept in their normal high corner of the aquarium. There is plenty of room and as I said another anemone on the other side (about 5 feet apart) of the tank plus plenty of LPS they could host in if feeling the need/want.
None of these are "old" the larger female Oc was pretty small when I got her a little over a month ago has grown quite a bit. I do think they were both immature and not sexed or both males at the time.
Both percs I think are immature/males right now, picked out a pair but think they were not the ones bagged at the LFS, at least one of the two that were hosting in the anemone there appeared to be larger in size than the other and both percs I got home with are the same size. No big deal as long as one of them changes to a female.

Thanks, they are alright several people get much better shots of their systems but take the time required.
The True Perc's are still hosting in the green BTA never going too far from it, the False Perc's are back to living in the upper left corner but swim around the aquarium all day and ignore the True Perc's and their hosting behavior now.
Here is the Blue Chalice coral Chris gave me for a huge bucket of cheato
Blue tip elegance coral is still doing very well, I do feed it daily.
As you can tell these were taken at feeding time
This is the Poc I picked up yesterday, it appears purple under my lights looked more blue under the stores. Now I have a green, pink, and purple Poc which of all the SPS I have the best luck with.

Yes Mike I see it close up and eat. Its a mix I feed to all my corals which includes:
Mysis, krill, cyclopeeze, garlic extract, vitamins, flake food, brine shrimp. Each coral gets a squirt per day, the fish clean up what they do not immediately eat.
I could try to take a video of it feeding...that could be fun.
