Well, unfortunatley I've been building this tank for several months and have just decided to post my progress. I could sure use any imput and or advice. Some of the pictures of the sump etc in the basement are sightly different but I'll get some more pics soon.

I am feeding the skimmer just through gravity from the return line. Wish I put a gate valve. I might change that at some point.

The returns from both corner overflows drain into the tub up on the table. That tub then drains into the lower tub as well as the skimmer and then back up. I'm experimenting with how best to cover these tubs while still having acess to them. I want to cut down on the humidity as much as I can as I have maple floors which swell easily.

I plan on putting insulaiton in the ceiling in the basement and putting a layer of plastic over it. I will probably put a exhaust fan on a humidistat to help keep the humidity out of the fish room.

Above the display tank, that is what I have in the works. When the house was built, I put an inline fan in the attic above the tank and will be putting that on a humidistat.

The system has only been running about a week. I am waiting for heaters to arrive.

I can't seem to get the skimmer dialed in yet. (The pictures are before I fired it up)

I also need to make some type of holder for a filter sock.

I welcome any suggestions!!!

Also waiting for my electrician to come over and give me a bunch of outlets. Currently running the return pump on a long extension cord.

As for equipment, I have:
1) 265 gallon marineland tank with 2 corner overflows. (The drain pipes suck and make alot of noise so I would like advise on how to quiet them down.)

2) Reef Octopus 5000 ext skimmer
3) Reeflow Baracuda Gold return Pump.
4) BRS Pukani rock with some randem base rock (By the way, best way to join rock is to use the plumbers putty by Oatley sold in the pluming section of Lowes. Its about $5 bucks per tube and is hard as steel when dry. I think its basically the same stuff found in LFS but half the price)

My future plans are to:"
1)Purchase a 3 Aqua Illumination LED fixtures as I don't have any lights yet;
2) Buy to reactors for GFO/GFC etc. when things are up and running.

I do not plan on having agressive fish or SPS corals anytime soon. I think I'll stick with soft corals for awhile. We'll see how I do and how adventerous I get.

If I add a Tee, I assume I have to put a cap on top and drill a hole in the cap? What about the 90 that the came with the set up with the two holes drilled into each side of it? Do I replace it with another 90 with no holes?

The Fish Teen. Thank you. I just created a Durso and problem solved. The only thing is that I drilled several small holes in the cap instead of just enlarging the one. I don't know if that would be more quiet. I'm going to buy a few more tee's and find out.

Finally, peace!
