You know, this hobby confuses me sometimes!!. Ive done lots of reading and I read about FLOW FLOW FLOW if you want Stony's. I see you have some in that very nice tank (i might add!!) and the only things it looks like for flow you have is your returns, is that correct? Maybe I missed something. I have a 180 with 2 6100 Tunzes on a controller plus my 4 returns. Can you maybe explain to me how the heck your tank is doing so well with the flow you have? I just dont understand sometimes

By the way, that tank looks really nice, good luck with it and hopefully this storm we might get will leave all of us reefer with electric :D

Thanks, Mike:confused:

well i'm running a sequence hammerhead pump now on this tank through those returns so its not that small of flow. i guess i'm pushing around 5100 gallons and hour though the four 1 inch returns

i think the flow is important but i also think alot of people way over do it. some of the stuff in this tank is over 5 years old and so far so good for me. i follow the keep it smart and simple way of thinking. people get all crazy and make this hobby ALOT harder then it need to be.

i'm with on on the storm. but if the lights do go out i got my home backed up by a 12000watt generator so as long as the house does not go under water or blow away i'm good to go

I agree with the some people make this hobby hard!! I think i might be one of em, BUT im learning so its easy for me to get caught up in that, BUT the more I learn the more I see what ya are saying!!!

Hurricanes- welp I have one in my tank 24/7 like a cat. 3!!! with those Tunzes that is. I have recently turned them down to 3/4 now and I might even turn them down some more to see what happens, as far as my return pump goes I have a sequence Snapper which I believe is a 2400gph at 0 head.

Good luck with this storm with you and the family and ya tank of course!!!, hopefully its not too bad. Ill stop hijacking your thread now!!

Great looking tank, keep it up dooood :D

Take a vid of inside the hood and stand...

Always cool to see how people have their stuff setup!

*warms up his generator* (even though the last track had it a bit south of us)

yeah he does seem to lack flow even with that hammerhead. but between gravity and the back pressure of all that water and the pvc itself, there's plenty of headloss.

GREAT video and tank! I'd like to get my clam off the bottom but I'm afraid it will fall or get knocked over by a big crab or snail. How did you secure your clam in the rock facing out? It's not just balancing there is it:confused:

LUCK. i put it facing up and over the years it has moced itself to the side of the rock. its put it dug into the rock almost 1/2" now.
seems to love it there. i used to think it was going to fall.

thank for the compliments

i guess they could but that clam belongs in the sand anyhow.

mine are all crocea clams which should be placed in the rock work.
I have one that is in the sand but underhim i burried a rock which he is very firmly attached to

Beautiful tank...your Naso loves to be on camera. Most of all Beautiful Sohal, very nice...How big is he???

who's rod by the way? no clue what the tank looks like I can't watch anything here but will see it later. had to comment on the rod thing since I figure you are talking to me.
