New 30 Gallon Tank with Custom Stand Pics inclued

Just got back into reefing… I took a year and half off and just set-up this 30 gallon. I installed two compact fluorescents 105 watt 10,000k MaxLite and a 32 watt 10,000k & Ultra-Actinic lamp inside a reflector.

The stand was custom built for me out of teak wood. This stuff is really solid and heavy. It was a real pain to drill the holes for the reflector…And caring up this stand to my room was a pretty tough.

I am very happy with the start. I had most of the stuff I needed on hand. And with a little help from my friends and the local fish store I was up and running.

My prior history goes back about five years ago with two 7 gallon mini bows and one 12 gallon nano cube.

Sorry for the low quality pictures. I need to upgrade to a nicer one soon.

Also, I am planning on getting some corals such as Zoos, Xenia, Green Star Polyps and pretty much anything that I can have with my lighting.

Anyway, I am glad to be back and look forward to sharing more as it comes along…

Thanks,

Christoher…

WOW Teak!!!

WOW Teak!!!

Hey Chris,
WOW, Teak wood. That must have cost a good amount of coin just for the wood alone. Lets see a shot of that stand and hood. I have made furniture out of Teak and you are right it is a bear to work with and drill into because it is a really dense wood. But, it is prefect for outside or for a tank:D :D .

Yes, it did cost a lot of money...I love the tank though. I will take some more pics during the day of the stand and hood...Thanks, Chistopher...
