Looking good so far, the high contrast shots too. The low noise + high mp is going to = some very nice prints. I really need to stop looking at this stuff.
Actually the movie mode is not that impressive on this camera. Yes, it's a cool feature, but it's lacking A LOT. It uses h262 compression which is a pain to edit with. It doesn't handle color correction worth a darn, only shoots 30fps and like I mentioned earlier, try moving the camera around. The video in the link above was produced for Canon and avoided doing anything that would cause the motion artifacts inherent in these chips. Canon's read/reset times for this chip are WAY WAY below where they need to be.
Other than that, if you just want a quick video clip, or need to grab something while shooting stills, it's a cool video feature.
Here's a link to the motion artifacts i'm talking about, also know as "jello"
I don't think this camera will replace the professional HD videocameras, however, i believe the earlier clip does show that in the right hands, this is quite capable of producing very good video in extremely low light conditions. Something that not too many HD videocameras are capable of. While the "jello" is there, i doubt you would see it if the camera were properly mounted on a tripod or stabilized in some way.
FYI, the video in the link above was not produced for Canon. It was independently produced and funded by Vincent Laforet using a pre-production version of the 5D.
In spite of its flaws, i still think this camera is groundbreaking and causing the flim industry and the like to give it a very close look.
