First time I have heard this on a tunze (this is my 6th). Setting up a new 450 and I bought these about a year ago in preparation. First time in a tank and one of the 6200's is making a very low clicking sound when I am close to the tank, yet when the wife sits across the room from it its very loud. I have taken it apart, checked everything I can and its still making the sound. What am I missing?

Thanks Roger

The bush bearing would be the usual culprit, it may not be in all the way. Pry it out and reinsert it rotated 180 degrees, it can only go in two ways. Give it a firm push.

Didnt work :( snapped it out turned it 180 and put it back together. Still makes the noise. Its a very muted clicking sound kinda like when a rock would get inside a whisper filter. No sediment is on this as its only been in tank 3 days. Anything else to try? Im going to swith out the internal prop with my other 6200 and see if its the prop or the internal unit making the noise

Is it the mounting perhaps? I cannot think of anything with the coil that could possibly make a noise. I might suggest giving it a couple days to see if quiets down. When you swapped the props did you swap the upper bearing and bush bearing? This would be worth a try, I have seen bush bearings that were too loose before.

I will try that in a day or two. Thanks Roger, just the service you provide here is why I will never use anything but Tunze
