Hi everyone, Please take a look at my new reef tank. It is only about 1 month old. I have been able to speed up the cycling process by using water, live rock and sand from exhisting setups. This has allowed me to fast forward to a beautiful tank. At least in my opinoin. Thanks to everyone who has helped me get it going so quickly. Did I mention I am completely new to this. I have be researching and reading every day. So much to learn.

I am just getting started and it seems everyone is going out of business or moving. I was lucky for me since I have been able to afford to outfit my tank pretty fast. I know the lion fish is risky but he is small right now and only eats the copopods. I will am trying to train him to eat frozen food.

I have been keeping a close eye on my water parameters and everything is stable so far. I hope it only gets better from here.

Let me know what you think, I need any help I can get. Thanks Jamie

Very nice tank. Looks like you are doing well. I am pretty new myself, but looks like you are doing well.

Thanks for sharing.

Congradulations on the tank and welcome to the hobby. I too have a 70 gallon tank that is about 6 weeks old. I've got my hands full trying to keep everything in balance. Lots of fun though.

I was lucky enough to get about 1/2 of the saltwater, my live rock and sand from exhisting tanks. We scraped about 1" of sand from about 4 tanks to get enough. The only uncycled thing in the tank was about 12 lbs of live rock that had just been recieved from florida. It seems to be doing great and it sure is alot of fun. I'm just dissapointed that everyone is going out of business. Although it did help me to afford to start this hobby so quickly. My water parameters seem to be stable for now. They have been that way sicne I started the tank to be honest. I guess I have begginers luck. I put the water.rock and sand in the tank and let it go for about a week. I then put the cleanup crew from GARF in and let that go for a week. After that I began to add everything else. I'd add a fish and wait a day or two to see how he did. Maybe I've rushed things but it seem pretty stable.
