i am probally buying a tank that is set up and has al kinds of coral and a couple tangs,2 clowns and a wrasse what is the best way to get all this home and all the water?

alot of buckets, and a van or uhaul. make sure you have alot of fresh salt water ready at home, you'll need alot of new water.

Rubbermaid Totes also work well, especially for Live Rock pieces that don't always fit well in buckets.
Whatever you use, pack it in your vehicle so it can't tip over or it will create a real mess.

I agree with Tourkid, have at least 50% new water prepared and up to temp. You may want to have more than that if you can store it.
Tourkid did a writeup of her move on here, if you search her past posts you should be able to find it.
It had a lot of good info.

I would plan for this to be an all day event. I would do ti on a Saturday so you can finish up on Sunday. Plus it is easier to find help on the weekends usually.

I have a 30 gallon trash can I use to mix water in you can borrow. I also have two Styrofoam containers that work well for livestock (lined with plastic bags).
Good Luck,
Ken

I usually mix 100 gallons of new water to move my 90 gallon tank.

Just thought of another one. This tanks sand is going to be FILTHY. If you take the time to clean it before readding the water your risking alot time wise while your fish are in bags. (bag your fish btw)

Anyways, I REALLY suggest buying around 80 pounds or more of new sand right now and rinsing it FOREVER (until its really clean)

That way when you re add your water and live rocks the water wont get cloudy.

ALSO. after you have your sand in the tank, lay a few garbage bags over it before you pour in water... that will help you alot!!

Marineguy.. that wasent my thread, just a post to one, I cant find it. but it was decent :)

have step latters around, your arms will be ready to fall off by the end of the day lol

you should count on just moving the tank costing 200.00 or so. (r/o filters for new water, salt, sand, i rent a u haul van, pay for dinner to all my helpers... usually i have 5 people, 4 guys plus me)

also make sure a plumbing store, HD, or Lowes is open. Never fails that something breaks or is missing could be the difference between the system running vs. waiting till one of them open.
