new 9010 question

I just bought a new DOC 9010 skimmer. The directions leave alot to be desired. My question is this when you look into the top of the skimmer with the cup removed I see a clear tube with a black fitting just sitting in the opening, is that normal? Does that push the foam into the cup? Also how do you remove the top piece? Or does that not get removed?

I figured out that this black nipple need to be in with the hydrofoamer and the venturi housing. Roger, the nipple seems not to fit all that well with the venturi housing? Is that the way it should be or should it snap right in there snug? Right now I have it in there but, it doesnt seem to be a perfect fit.I am going to PM you my address in case you think I need parts.

it takes some fiddling, you gotta get the holes lined up perfect.

As manderex said its a very snug fit you have to give it a firm push and line it up at the same time.
