It costs a bit for salt to do that much in water changes though, I would think you could get away with a 12g water change and it would save you $20 a month in salt. I mean $20 is not a ton of money, but $20 saved is $20 earned which is $240 a year.

My 180 I converted to FW because I just did not have the time for it. (at my office)
I figure I save some of that $5 per week in other ways. (even though you could never save 100% of your salt costs)
No supplementations of any kind, I buy 1 test kit a year (ca), very little carbon use, no algal issues,and I never worry about those nitrate, nitrite, phosphate things that seem to be in many tanks
