Raising every batch will require quite a few tanks, depending on the % yield/survival and the size at which you decide to sell them. If they lay a nest every couple of weeks, then you would theoretically need a tank for every two weeks that you plan to keep the fish before you sell them unless you combine batches into a larger growout tank.

28g is plenty of physical space for maroons as long as water quality can be maintained with the heavy feedings they will need for spawning. That filtration should be fine as well. Just keep-up with the water changes

If your going to try and breed these in a couple of years just be aware maroons have some of the smallest fry of clowns. They require the small strain of rots for the first part of their lives.

To be sure that no-one is discouraged from attempting to raise maroon larvae because of this--they will be fine with normal rotifers; small-strain is not necessary for raising maroons. It is important to keep the rotifer density high, and they may require rotifers for an extra day or two compared with other commonly-raised clownfish, but they are otherwise not too difficult (relatively).

I was planning on starting out with ocellaris. So would a 10 gallon growout tank be fine? Or would a 25 work better?

A 10g tank is fine for larval, but it may require a lot of water changes to work as a growout unless it is connected into centralized filtration.

Thanks for the info Titus77. Where in Costa Mesa is the Petco? Also when I was going to college I worked for Petco and they definately order from ORA. Finally Titus77 I think its really cool that you are only in high school and are keeping saltwater fish. Most of my students would never even dream of doing such a thing.
