Well, the barn I am boarding at isn't fancy. No indoor ring, and not like the perfect barns you see on TV. However, the owner is super nice, loves the horses and all the horses are in good shape. I am doing full care, which means all I have to do is come ride. $150 a month including a box stall, feed, hay, shaving, stall cleaning and turnout!

OK... Just got home from the first ride. I am still alive! Yeah. She was actually super nice. Very willing and calm. She got a little excited when we rode outside the arena, but all in all was very nice.
I put my husband on her, who is a total beginner and she started trotting...legs hitting her side and bumping all over and she was fine!
She does need some ground manners...she is a little spooky, but she is just super sweet and very loving. She loves attention...she even seems to like the kids!
My husband and I talked it over and have decided on a name for her....

Cause she is just such a little treasure....and my husband loves the singer Jewel...So that is what we are going to call her.
I am having a blast. We are going to hit the trails tomorrow if I can find a babysitter!
