New anemones

So I got my first anemone, and am wondering if anyone has advice for feeding these guys? Any advice for how often to syringe feed them, and any other suggestions that may help me out! Thanks all!

What type anemone? Pics? Small pieces (say the size of a peanut) of silversides, shrimp, squid, scallop, etc. would likely make for good choices. Brine shrimp isn't a good choice, btw. You can go to the seafood dept. of the grocery store and get unfrozen fresh shrimp, scallops, and squid. Also get silversides from your lfs.

BTA (rose?) Do I just lay it on the top, and how often, how much? I get SO MANY conflicting opinions!

How about a picture? :D Everyone seems to do it different is why you see conflicting opinions. Basically whatevery works for you. I use prime reef 2-3 times a week. I use tongs and place next to the tentacles. If they grab it, they will eat it. If they don't I usually remove the food.

I just drop a small piece into the tentacles and then the anemone does the rest. Sometimes when an anemone is new to a tank, it can take days to a week or more before the anemone will eat.

Thank you so much all!!!!! I LOVE RC!!! This is so much fun, and I have 2.3 millions questions, all that you all have answered! Another question, whats the deal with cloning? Is this a bad thing? What do you do if this happens?

Cloning for BTA's happens for one of two reasons, the anemone has gotten large and it's just time to divide or under stress the anemone will split. So, to answer your question, it's not a bad thing, in fact it can be a desirable thing, but in some cases it does suggest your tank conditions are out of whack.

BTW, Karen's Rose Anemones is a website that will likely answer a lot of your questions--also the anemone faq section at the top of this forum. WetWebMedia has tons of great information also.
