New Aquarium in Canada!

Just read in the Buffalo News that in addition to two indoor water parks at Niagara Falls (one of which just opened yesterday) the Canadians are planning to open, in 2007, the largest aquarium between the Atlantic Ocean and the Shedd in Chicago!

The planned aquarium on the American side remains a huge dirty hole in the ground.....

The new aquarium complex at marine land looks great, when you factor in the outdoor marine habitats it comes out comperable to the barcelona facility.

It's frustrating how the American side continues to "drop the ball" in Niagara Falls.

It is very frustrating Gary. I am totally convinced that Niagara Falls USA will never be comparable to the CA side. They have a casino now and have seen little impact on the surrounding area. They need to kick all of the old politicians out of office, bulldose the entire dump of a city, and start taking some real chances.

couldnt agree with you more keith. there is some minor impact that the casino brought. there are a few hotels going up, right now im working on the holiday inn select that is right across from the casino. they were bought out and are doing a complete makeover. the wizard of oz theme park is supposed to be breaking ground sometime soon, but ill believe that when Im on the job building it. other than that though it is the same niagara falls. its funny because Ive worked in the few high rise buildings niagara falls has and the city is a joke compared to the canadian side.

thats exactly what Im talking about. the aquahole is what we call it. now it is just a hole that is half filled with nasty stagnat water.

the thing about niagara falls is everyone thinks they are a big shot and that they are entitled to something. every property owner in the city just sits on the property waiting for someone to make them a huge offer for thier run down piece of crap. its truely amazing.

FYI, ripley's has decided to postpone the construction of the aquarium attached to the great wolf lodge until the full consequences of the pending mandatory passport legislation can be appreciated.
