New Austrailian Tusk

I recently got a Australian Tusk from TheMarineCenter.com and he wont eat anything but shrimp or silversides from a feeder stick. I was wondering how or if I can get him to eat flake pellet or other foods. He is about 5-6" and is very active swiming almost all of the time.
Thanks

Do you have other fish on pellets? If you do the tusk will pick up on the fact that they're food. If you just don't feed it for a couple days it'll probably eat some pellets. Don't starve it but not feeding it a couple days won't make a big difference.

When you feed, offer the other stuff first... If he doesn't take it for a day or two offer what he will eat but put some of the flake or whatnot in with it.

However, you do need to feed some variety so the more you can give him the better. Check out a local fresh market for options....

Also of note, the older a fish is the harder it generally is to get them to eat non natural/prepared/etc type foods so it may take awhile.

He seems to be more inerested in the other foods now. However today he has seemed to come up with ich. None of the other tankmates have got it they are 2 fairy wrasses, blueface angel, and a snowflake eel. I have been using garlic since i got the all the fish. I was thinking about getting a couple of cleaner gobies tomorrow. I will post pics as soon as i get my new lights. My lights are on order.
Thanks
