Hey all,
I just got a pair of H. diphreutes bannerfish...I've had them for about a week now, and they're in the quarantine tank, eating well, etc....well, almost. Yesterday, I noticed one of them not so interested in food. This afternoon, I see that he's mostly resting on the bottom, occasionally swimming a bit, although the last time he was swimming upside down or on his side. Meanwhile, the other fish...a very small Niger trigger and a Pajama Cardinal, both of whom have been in there for a while, seem fine.
The tank is fully cycled, with no ammonia or nitrites, and nitrates around 20. I've seen fish act like this in the presence of ammonia, but that's not the case here. What causes something like this to come up in only one fish? Is there anything I can do other than wait it out? The tank is not being medicated, for what its worth.
