The key is flow. They want a ton of flow. Way more than the yellow ones. I could not get mine to open until I moved them to a place where the flow is crazy and pop opened up and have been open ever since. Frankly I thought they were going to die so I stuck them there because it was not as visible. Now they are open all day.

i actually turn all my powerheads off right before i feed them and leave them off for about 2 hours so theres almost no flow at all and they open right up not even 5 minutes after the lights go off. I have the Aquatic Life t5 HO light setup with the digital program timers. Two 150 watt MH's and two 54 watt actinics. Model # 420056.

The key is flow.

I have not found this to be true, use to think this too. But stable params and a routine, reasonable, feeding schedule and they will open like clock work. They get almost no light though....

I currently have my black, and green, which is much more finicky in low flow areas of my macro tank and they open and grow very nicely.

I would love to see the pics of your corals, I don't think I have even seen the green kind

I moved mine about 2 months ago to a different tank and they are royally ****ed off, well not anymore.but they bailed out half their polyps..so I would hate to take pics. They are recovering nicely...so holler at me in a month or so and I can take some pics of my greens.

more embarrased at the hurt I caused them, even though they are definatly doing better growth wise in their current location.

I searched for ages to find some greens, and ironically found them at a frag swap being sold as 'blacks' which they are def not. You can see what greens look like here
