So a year and a half ago , someone who was dismantling a tank gave me a " bonded pair" of black snowflake ocellaris c.b. I think because he wanted them spawning and it didn't happen got annoyed and decided to get other ones. Since I had gold band maroons and melanopus spawning before he figured I might have either enough patience or a trick to get them to start spawning...
A couple of times they looked like they were going to but didn't because of a water change or a clay pot that slightly changed position , or fell or whatever.
Recently I got a BTA just to see if they would take to it...
Like many others here , after a few days they've totally ignored it , since they probably have never seen one before!
I don't personally like the idea of coercing clownfish in anemones... So before I start looking for the appropriate anemone I will try something silly that I've read on a forum: to this question someone answered "Xerox a picture of clownfish in anemone and stick it to the side of the aquarium. They may start imitating the behavior."
So today I start showing them YouTube videos of clownfish and anemones....
After 3 videos ....so far the female has almost " jealously " pushed the male away from the iPad screen so I know they see it!
I've had success breeding frogs by recording mating calls and playing it back to them...
Maybe this'll work also.
Will give updates if there are any!
