New BTA

I just got a new BTA two days ago and he keeps moving around. He is always going into my rock work and not coming out. How long can this go on till I have to get him out?

Just let him be. One of mine hides most of the time untill mid day and then comes out only when the lights are the brightest.

What's your Params. If something is wrong with the water, they won't sit still.

BTAs are pretty hardy though. But I do fine that mine are not a fan of po4 fluctuations. I can tell when the po4 starts to raise because they close up or start moving.

They will move around till they find the "spot". I put mine on the outside edge of a small cave and he stayed put, but then noticed after a few days he would really stretch out for the light. So I removed the rock covering it and now it gets huge about the size of a small dinner plate during the day and hasn't moved at all.

There should be a "sticky" on new BTA behavior. No offense to the OP but every few days someone gets a BTA for the first time and asks the same questions.

He comes in and out of this spot. Sometimes during the day he is out and sometimes he is in. I fed it some shrimp today and it seemed to eat. Couldn't tell because the way he is in the crack I couldn't see his mouth. But for like 10 min I didn't see any pieces escape.

mine anemones move out in the day time for light, then go back under his rock at night time everyday. weird boy

It us bleached a lil but not horriable, give it time to settle in and let it find a spot it likes and it should be fine
