sure does. but great water, lighting and twice a week feeding it should recover. I wish they came in white myself as i have seen some awesome ones with purple tips.
thanks, water is great....lighting right now is ok, 72W pc lighting...soon to be 150W MH.....what should i feed it? i've heard DT's, i've heard silversides, shrimp, scallops,..... what should i feed it?
here's another one........i just got it today, so it moved from the spot i picked for it, which is fine....i thought it would move. BUT...it's moving somewhere it won't get much light! i guess it's just looking for the right flow, because the lights are off....hopefully in the morning it will be a bit smarter. now here's the question....what do i do if it "hides"? and how concerned should i be if it does decide to hide?
Anemones some times move away from bright lights when they aren't quite used to the intensity. Once it gets acclimated to the light it should re-emerge.
how long do you think it will take to "unbleach"?
and just for an update: the new nem moved to a "shady" area near the bottom of the tank. it hid it's foot under a huge rock..not a bad spot for it, it won't get in the way of other coral there. i just hope that it will get enough light for the zooanthella (probably spelled that worng) to photosynthesize. it is eating mysis shrimp though!
Originally posted by happyclam I'm new to anemones so I'm probably wrong, but that looks like a bubble coral to me. Bubbles come in colors of white and faint green.
it's definilty a bubble tipped anemone.....it was attached to the side of the aquarium "reaching" for the light at the store. and it moves.....it's an anemone
ok here's another one..........the nem looks like it's getting more green color in it.....but this morning i noticed that it's mouth is "puckered". is this just from acclimating to my tank and being new or do i have a serious problem on my hand?
