A girl I hooked up with on Tinder was at a bar downstairs from my apartment. My best friend said, "Get her up there - tell her you want to show her your fish tank!".
I was so ashamed to tell him that the tank still wasn't ready.
So, I went to the LFS looking for bio-spira but came home with aquavitro seed. I've never used this prodict and it's kinda pricey so hopefully it works. Before I went to bed I checked the nitrites...because I couldn't help it...and no joy. It's still deep purple.

The tank is doing great. I have a small dusting of diatoms on the rocks that in not worried about. I took out the filter media on the left side overflow. Once I did that my nitrates went from 10 to 0. I replaced with a sponge I'll change out every couple of weeks and some bagged carbon.
The first fish was a domino clown and this gal has ADD. She's up and down her side of the tank. Will eat out of my hands. I had a feeling she will be really aggressive.
A month later I had a small yellow goby, pistol and fire shrimp come out of quarantine. I've seen the fire shrimp lately but the others are MIA. I reckon they're still alive but who knows? My next fish is supposed to be a coral beauty angel.
