New build upgrade! Planning a 500+ DT Mixed reef

I would not buy a glass-cages tank. Lots of very bad reviews from them.
I'd recommend getting on your local board and asking around if you can find someone semi-local or someone that'd ship.
If you didn't want glass I'd offer up my brand new 10' 500.

where u located? also the only reason i chose them is because, they build my sump and DT. the only problem i have seen on the forums are the rudeness ( very) and messy caulk jobs but nothing structural

I'm in Iowa.
I've personally seen 2 of their tanks break. One was an 8' 340 another was a 6' 300. 340 broke along a side pane after being set up for about 18 months. 300 broke along the bottom.

Anyone?

Anyone?

what would be a good size frag tank to go with my new system?

500+ DT, (2) 150g Rubbermaid tubs with DSB and rock, (1) 100 gallon tube with DSb and only rock and refugium only? I dont know if i should make the frag tank seperate of part of the system?

The wider the tank the easier it is to get away with the a centre drain/return. The narrower the tank the better to put them at the ends, especially in a tank that is viewable from both sides, IMHO.

If you will see the tank from both sides you could do a cost to cost overflow on one end and your returns on the other end. That leaves the viewing area clean.
