new bulb?

hey everybody i was introducing a new/used bulb today i'm going from the factory MH bulb to a phoenix 14k 250w i bought used, guy said it's about 3 months old!! i was wondering if i should plug it in and let it rip or is there some kind of rule of thumb for introducing a new bulb? LMK

are you talking about coral acclimation??

if so, try putting a piece of eggcrate over the tank to cut the light down a bit & also shorten the length of time the light is on for a few days. then take the eggcrate out after a day or 2 & slowly lengthen the light time over a few days to what you had before

yeah that's similar to what i was reading,i got a piece of black bridal veil mesh, i also i have the egg crate! i'll use that since it easier to mess w/ thanks alot

well no and yes on the acclimation, i was worried about the bulb being to bright being its a newer bulb then the one i have currently, it's the same strength it's just has alot les hrs on it!( 3 months old) and bleeching the corals
