Ok, so I got the wifey a new camera and after reading an article in this monts reefkeeping mag, I took some pics. these are with a $160 point and shoot digital. Canon A530

those elkhorns, they do fine under PCs right? I had some awhile back, gave them to Phu, cause they kept breakin'. Very fragile. That looks like what I use to have anyway. I might be interested.

Oh yea, and the "Purpley Acro" I got from Angela last year.
this thing encrusted very well, but hasnt gained but 1/2" height.

Steve, I would guess so. mine grow like weeds under 440 vho. yes very very fragile. I had a tang that was great at fragging it for me. I broke some off for the swap while trying to rid some of the bubble algae. the two small pics are some of the ones I have to offer. mine seems to grow a shoot and then fan out almost like a cap. I have some nice thick areas in it.

Did you use the camera on "macro" mode or just snap the pics with the camera's default settings?

I put it in manual mode. f stop at 2.6 ( I think) shutter at 1/20 or 1/50 second depending on depth in tank and it has a digital manual focus so I used that. it basically zoomed in to the focus area and you could focus it. kinda tricky on the little screen though. I had to do a few to get it right nad didnt know tillI got them on my computer how good or bad they were. some were very detailed. I took some big photos and cropped in what I wanted.

Wow, Great shots for a great price! Funny I can't even remember that purple aco I have had so many and lost so many.... Looks great though! The xenia shots look awsome also. I bet your wife is loving the new camera also!

well the old one flashed too slow and Austin kept ending up wiht drunk eyes. this one is faster and takes better pics and is WAY more adjustable. FYI, DONT BUY A KODAK.

Nice shots, Lindsey. I guess that Bali tricolor needs a lot of light to hold the colors... Everything looks great.

yea, to keep the tips really bright. it still has some color, but not near as vivid...the brown w/ yellow polyps did really good for a few months, but then just rtn'd on me... it really encrusted though.
